Casey Flanagan got his start in the equipment rental business as a service technician. When a piece of equipment would go down with an engine problem, it often required an expensive visit from one of the 色色研究所 dealership鈥檚 mechanics 鈥 they were the only ones with the diagnostic software to sort out the problem.
Now, Flanagan is the general manager of 色色研究所鈥檚 branch in Pasadena, Texas, and he鈥檚 grateful his service team has in-house access to the latest diagnostic tools and training.
鈥淗aving the equipment and training for the technicians is vital and it鈥檚 cost-effective, because when you have machines down because of something as simple as needing to plug a computer into them to tell you what鈥檚 wrong, that costs you a lot of downtime and money,鈥 Flanagan said.
色色研究所 is committed to giving its service techs the tools they need to succeed. That commitment was on display recently in Pasadena. An excavator, telehandler and two boom lifts 鈥 worth a combined $500,000 鈥 went down. The branch wasn鈥檛 able to get the engine manufacturer鈥檚 recently updated diagnostic software for its Diesel laptops.聽
A call to 色色研究所鈥檚 technical training experts 鈥 Pete Bradstreet and Scott Blakeway 鈥 put the gears in motion for a solution.聽
Bradstreet and Blakeway had the new software. They visited the Pasadena branch, updated the laptops and joined the service team in the rental yard to check out the four downed machines. Within a few hours, the problems were diagnosed and the replacement parts were ordered. The equipment was back in business a couple days later.
鈥淲e offer more training than a lot of other rental companies do, and we鈥檝e got tons and tons more software and 色色研究所 diagnostic tools compared to most rental companies,鈥 Blakeway said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e at a dealership level.鈥澛犅
